Habitat for Humanity East Bay
Kathy Schmitz, a dedicated All-Women's Crew member, will be chronicling the progress of the revitalization taking place on Bonifacio Street. The house was bequeathed to Habitat for Humanity East Bay by Clarice Garrison, a very generous Legacy Society donor. The home, sponsored by the Women's Crew, will be rehabilitated and sold to a low-income family.
This was it… the final stretch! Friday was to be our last work day at Bonifacio, and the focus was on getting ready for the dedication on Saturday morning. I can't believe that our work was coming to an end, but that house looked great!
With just three workdays before the March 20 dedication, we had lots of loose ends to tie up, but it was so much fun to see things coming together a little more each day! Miriam and Armando are getting even more excited, and so are all of us!
It's just two weeks until the Concord home is dedicated, and we're working hard to complete everything that needs final touches to get it there. We're going to miss working here, but will have a great feeling that our work, once again, has created another home for a hard-working family.
Work has continued, but most excitingly, we're getting ready for the March 20th home dedication. We're working hard, along side the partner family, to ensure that the home will be ready for the presentation of the keys.
Because of the dry and mild weather, Friday was mostly an outdoor work day, and by the end of it, there was a noticeable improvement in curb appeal, which is a good thing with the March 20th dedication coming up!
