Habitat for Humanity East Bay

PG&E Partnership

PG&E is Habitat East Bay's exclusive solar sponsor.  This partnership began several years ago Habitat East Bay and PG&E collaborated to offset the cost of installing photovoltaic solar panels on new homes being built by Habitat East Bay. This spawned a program throughout PG&E’s service district called Solar Habitat. Every affiliate in PG&E’s service area can now apply for funds to cover the entire cost of implementing solar on each new home. 

PG&E realized that there were multiple benefits to this campaign. Habitat homeowners can reduce their energy cost, the panels capture energy and feed this back in to the energy grid, Habitat and PG&E are supporting their local communities by helping build affordable housing for families with limited incomes.
